I am a busy working mother. I have four children and live a high stress life. Don't get me wrong, I love my life but it can take a toll on my mental and physical health sometimes. I've been carrying around an extra twenty pounds for the last two years after giving birth to our last daughter. I have asthma and I never really thought about how a few extra pounds could impact that disease! I began having more serious problems with asthma while pregnant with my third daughter. However the bigger i got the worse it became! I felt out of control with my health. I am a veterinarian and I'm always talking to people about how extra weight on a dog or cat can have major impacts on their general health. It can affect everything from the heart to joints to the immune system. I'm a human being, but the same thing goes for me. I found that out first hand! I knew I had to do something before it got worse.
I found a weight loss plan, ordered the products and took them as I was told. I was thinking deep down that it may or may not happen. I'll give it a try. Even though this plan is about drinking shakes and taking a few pills, I could eat one meal a day. This meal ideally would be a healthy meal of course...but with my busy lifestyle that is hard to pull off. However, since most of our food lacks the nutrients we need anyway I thought maybe it doesn't really matter what I eat. The products that I ordered to start the so called 'diet' provide the nutrition anyway. So for my one meal I pretty much started eating what I wanted. It was hard enough to give up two meals already right?
I lost 5 pounds the first 7 days. Wow. Wasn't expecting that. I was supposed to drink alot of water. ALOT of water. I never drank enough water in the past and kept headaches but I found out that plenty of water helps those little nagging headaches disappear. (Never had migraines by the way just little nagging headaches.) I then noticed I wasn't nearly as hungry as usual. When I did eat, I couldn't eat as much. Things were looking good.
The next week, I lost 3 more pounds. This was surprising to me because we had a family reunion that weekend. That term in our family means to get together and eat like hogs. Family came out of town and we went out to eat virtually three nights in a row not to mention the big feast that Sunday at lunch. Did I behave and stick to my two shakes and one meal a day? Nah! I did have one shake a day though. I couldn't eat as much as I usually did which almost ticked me off in a weird way because there were two big pieces of cake on my dessert plate but I could only eat one! I wanted to try the peanut butter cake too! It's all good though. I was very happy with 3 more pounds lost in the mist of all of that going on.
I'm currently in week three and I'll let you know later how that turns out. Thanks for reading!
